VALUE WGAT YIU HAVE

For the past week now, Our pumping machine got bad. But in a different way, we had an option of not leaving our resident to get water somewhere.

The one supplying water to the apartments got bad but the one suppling to the poultry house still works.

Well, we have to opt to go get water from the farm house instead. It has been like that for a while now.

So we have to go down to the farm to fetch water. But did you know the amazing part of it?

While the machine in the apartment was working, we never valued or see the need to maintain or minimize how we use water or even see the need to store water.

Personally, I never saw the need until I lost the privilege. I barely go two times to fetch water and I am exhausted already.

Mhen, it's even worse that after coming back from the farm and one want to rest but have to go fetch water to bath first before any other thing.

Within me, I am already tired of this everyday fetching water but there are people somewhere in an underdeveloped community who goes to the stream, very far from their homes just to fetch water.

This happens everyday of their life. In fact, it's one of their everyday chores.

I could just imagine the privilege I have that someone else doesn't. Did you know that I never thought I did find myself in this situation before?

Same goes to you, there are lots of privileges you enjoy that others don't and funny enough you don't value it.

For example:..

1. A child who eats three square meal everyday does not know the value until the parents can not afford it anymore.

2. You live and sleep in a well furnished house everyday probably you are not paying the house rent and you won't know what you have not until it's no more.

And so many more.

Value what you have and cherish it.

Just imagine the little boy in the picture.
I am sure he is even happy that atleast, he sees something to eat.

Here you are living in a duplex still complaining.

It doesn't mean you should be comfortable where you are but cherish where you currently are and the progress you have made.

OUT OF THE BOX

Have you checked the people living in a slum? Their mindset is the same.

They don't believe they can ever make it in life.

I read "THE PARABLE OF THE BOX" by Leke Alder

I was amazed at how he used the box to analyse the situation we found ourselves especially those living in houses very common in Lagos known as "face me, I face you" where we use the Gen I better pass my neighbor are.

He used the building to term what limits us, we usually don't see reasons why we should leave that our comfort to face a bigger dream or future.

We are enclosed in the box but we can only get out of the box if we are intentional and willing.

This book teaches us how to escape from the box. Just imagine you are in the box, all you do is walk round and round still stalk in the same box.

How do you jump out of the box?
How do you leave the box and don't get stalked somewhere?

Its a short book about 12 pages I am willing to share with anyone who will promise to value it.

Message me on Whatsapp: 07015534884 with "THE BOX" and I will share it willingly

TIME TO KILL

TIME TO KILL
-----------------------
It was Christmas, Emeka a 25 years old man has spent the early stage of his life in the city.
He left home at the age of 13 and now he has made it and has decided to go see his people and also show them the beautiful lady he wants to marry.

As it's common with the Igbos, at a tender age, they leave the village to the city in pursuit of greener pastures. Finally, Emeka found wealth and it will be necessary to go back to his people.
When he arrived, everyone was happy to see Emeka again, they couldn't believe their sight. At first, they didn't recognize him, not until he stepped out of his car.

"You are now a big man", said his Uncle as Emeka steps down from the car.

The atmosphere was filled of happiness and everyone was in celebration mode. They all ate and merry all through until it's night.

Two days after Emeka arrived with his fiance, he introduced his fiance to his parents. They were also happy for him for taking such great step at such age.

Just like you have watched in Nigerian movies, Nigerian mother's especially the Igbo tribe are happy to see their sons getting married early just to make sure they see their grand children.

He once again introduce the lady he came back with, not as a friend this time but as a wife. The  happiness in their midst suddenly disappeared.

"Titi is a beautiful and a good woman. I think she should be every man's desire, but it's unfortunate that you can not marry her". The mother concluded after isolating him from the rest.

Just then, the Father added "How can you be too quick to forget? Don't you remember the custom of our land? You can't marry a lady that is not from here."

Emeka was speechless," what a custom", he muttered

Only if the she was from here, the custom would have favoured her.

To you my reader, Tribalism has killed us and the worse is that our customs and beliefs has added to the injury.

We cry out for racism but here in Nigeria, something greater than that is eating us up.

Just last week, I heard of how Ondo state governor appointed an Igbo lady as a special adviser and the people cried out for her removal and I am sure it will happen like that too if it Happens in the eastern or northern part of this country.

How can we achieve unity in diversity of we can't tolerate our tribes. This sickness is worse than tribalism. It's amongst us black

Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, Efik, Ibibio, etc
Is our skin colour different?

Food for thought.

WHY WE ARE LIMITED

The whole thing got me craked up. I discovered I should have been better than who I used to be.

So that day, while I was studying in my library, I found this article in a writers magazine that mesmerized me.

The lady was telling her story of how she Started out as a writer. In her words;

Then, I usually thought I am no good for this that those international names and best sellers are better than I am. Only then I found out that we are on the same page even though I might be better than them

You only remain here because you never took a step. You are waiting to attain perfection before you write or you are waiting for university degree to be a certified a writer.

I only discovered how good I was after I made up my mind to write and to consistently do so.
Mind you, the journey was tough. Filled with challenges.
The worse is procastination. I struggled with a whole a lot but, they are history now

I sailed through when I told myself there was no other way.

She concluded.

While I was reading, it came to my knowledge that I have been holding myself back all along.

You that you are reading this, did you know where you should have been by now if you had carried out that plan you inhabits in your mind?

Definitely, I know two things that would have happened,

1. Either you have failed woefully and regreting or
2. You are on point winning.

Whichever way, if you lose, you learn your lesson. Whenever I carry out a task and fail, did you know I see it as win? Yes, because in as much as I lost, I have gained experience and lessons that when I am going back tomorrow I can easily avoid it.

And if you win, you know what you did right and improve on it to avoid failures.

We take that risk of not starting out not knowing that that is the greatest risk.

The worse decision you can take in life is playing it safe not forgetting that you also need OT.

So on her journey as a writer, she took the bold step to write. She made me understand that

1. Why most writers are relevant than others is because some took the step to write even when they are not perfect. They conquered the fear of being mocked.

2. She made mention of being consistent, even when you don't know what to write, write anyways. Make it a daily routine to write and to deliver in this area, get an accountability partner.

3. Accountability partner is someone that pushes you to be better, he motivates and make sure you are consistent with that which you said you will do or are already doing. Get one today so you can be accountable.

Don't forget to get the book, "CHASE YOUR DREAM." This book will give you a refreshed mind towards pursuing that your abandoned dream. Ask me for helping how to get started

THERE IS TRULY GOD

How much do we keep up with this
This land is no safe place again to stay.

Today, racism
Tomorrow, rape
Next, killings

I weep for mankind. I cry for you and I because we are heading towards destruction if we continue like this.

Let's have a rethink.

The worse is that People gathered mural to come online to drag God.
When did we get here?
How did we get here?

What a world
Just a quick reminder
God is merciful, slow to anger

You doubt the existence of God but you wake up every morning.

The free air you breath everyday should be enough to tell you that there is a God somewhere.

Go and ask people that use life support.

God have mercy
I don't care about your religion, have it in mind that God exist

WHY GIVE UP

I looked back at what I have been able to achieve during the past month.

Nothing much, i have just been the Chizoba everyone knows.

I have given up hopes, dreams and aspirations.

What next for me?

I tried writing, designing, Videography, forex trading and a whole lot but it's ain't working.

I could just kick the bucket and end it all. Yeah, I should do that and I won't have to worry again about this whole thing.

Corona, so much hunger, no money, no passion, no zeal, no consistency, no love, plenty haters, etc

Why should I? When life is too sweet.

So one day while I was just seated and chatting and checking status on Whatsapp I discovered a movement, a movement of consistency and commitment.

It was like an Anthem on my status, from different people. It awakened me.

I gained a sense of responsibility and belonging. I had back my burning zeal. It brought me back to life.

I didn't only answer the call, I embraced it and loh and behold, I am in the journey.

I escaped my fears and frustrations and it saved me.

 What an escape,

Now to you reading this, there are things you post on your status or timeline that people read are not commenting on.

Don't stop posting it, you are actually making impact just that they are not complimenting you.

Strife to never give up

YOUR THINKING SMELLS

"You should have thought about it?", I told him

Apparently, during the seminar, Mr Walter Osondu (not real name) was invited to speak in our Annual school program has told us to start taking actions.

In his word, "Did you know why you are not making money yet? Because you have refused to take actions. You don't need to see the clearer picture or how it will end, just start"

"The greatest risk is playing it safe, there is so much money in poultry farming, you should exploit it. Check other Industries"

He killed it all when he backed up his claims with Charts and analogies. I could see the bewildered eyes of every student in the hall.

Just after the lectures, Bayo approached me praising Mr Walter.

"Mr Walter is a God sent, I never knew such opportunity exist", Bayo said

Bayo has made up mind and nothing is going to discourage him not to venture into poultry management.

I love his zeal and ambitions but I advised he gain more knowledge on the business.

He didn't heed my advice but insisted he will be wasting more time after all, he has some basic knowledge.

Now, Bayo has rushed into poultry farming and he has rushed out after losing close to a million naira blaming the motivational speaker

Now this is for you that is dragging motivational speakers or planning to blame them.

Don't you reason? Will you disown your family of they ask you to? Will you divorce your wife if motivational speaker ask you to?
But you have ventured into that business, failed and here you are blaming motivational speakers.

Get sense.

Before you start that business, no matter the money involved,

1. Have a business plan, it will help you to know the end from beginning

2. Identify and Invest.
Identify the niche you want to venture in and invest heavily to learn more about them.  Because a lady is beautiful outside does not mean her house is clean. Don't you see that that make up she is wearing is decieving you.

3. Patience is a virtue:
The female genders are amazing, If there is anything you should learn from ladies, it's that patience they have to sit for hours making their hair and applying make up just to look beautiful. We need to also apply same in starting a business too. Don't rush it, take your time so that it will come out beautiful.

4. Know the Don in that field.
Now there are things I see in business plan, where they say know your competitors. Hmmm.. Are they competing with you or you are competing with them. You are yet to start your business, so see them as your mentors.
Learn from them until your brand can compete with them.

5. Start.
After you must have gathered all fact and figures, and acquired enough knowledge, you can start.

Don't be like Bayo, the earliest you learn to take responsibility for your actions and stop playing blame games, the better for you.

EVEN WITH THE LIGHT, I CAN'T SEE

I know I had a lot to do; I fear I may fail but I still failed. I just wish this will stop happening to me.

"What will I write? How do I start? Who do I write to?", These were the questions I asked myself while lying on my bed in my dark room.

The Power supply company has in the day time  disconnected our light because of non payment of electricity bills for 5 months. We are in utter darkness and there is no hope of getting connected soon.

I had sleepless night thinking and doubting but I became desperate and determined. Few minutes past 4:00am, I dozed off

Early that morning, I woke up to rain drizzling and a quite cold weather.

"Perfect weather for married couples", I muttered as I walk down the street to get my writing materials. I have actually made up my mind to write anything.

Musa's shop is the closest and probably opens earlier than others in my estate. I bought my 2 forty leaves note books and a black pen. I wished I could get more but I am short of cash.

I walked back home still thinking on what to write or where to get inspiration. Well, I remembered my teacher told me to always see beyond the surface of anything.

One week later, I have written nothing in those books. Each time I picked up my pen to write, my head becomes empty.

"How do I become a writer if I can not even write a short note?", I asked myself

Moments into my wonderland, an idea came.
"Wow!, Chizoba, you are a genius", I exclaimed

I ran into the house, picked my phone and called  my friend Elozonam.

"A nice step in a nice direction", he encouraged me.

I have known Elozonam since we were in secondary school and before he left University, he became a best selling author, won numerous awards and was the best graduating student in the while school.

Elozonam became a pain in the ass for me. He will always check on me everyday to make sure I have written an article for him to review.

It is really annoying to have him checking on me but I deserved it. Most times, I fein anger  but I am happy he is always there for me.

Today, I am amongst the number ten sought after authors in the world.

Let me tell you what Elozonam usually tell me

He always say, "I can't give you the fish you need but I will buy you a hook and show you the river to go fish"

In this note, let me ask you this question,

Who is/are your friends?
What role do they play in your life?
How have they helped you grow?
When you are with them, what do they usually discuss?

If you don't have a friend like Echezonam, you are in the wrong van. Ask the driver to drop you or you jump down.

Glossary:
Echezonam: Igbo name meaning "do not forget me''

HOW I BOUGHT TRUTH

"Why would he tell me to buy the truth and never sell it", I asked my father. Where do I buy truth from? Who sells it? How much is it?, All these were questions racing through my head.

My Father could sense my curiosity, He did everything in her power to make me understand.

You will be pondering why Someone will tell me to buy the truth and never sell it.

As a kid, I am very stubborn and lie a lot. Mom was worried as Dad has promised to disown me if I don't change my ways.

On a Sunday after church service, mom took me to the pastor for counselling. It is the norm in our church to go for counselling after Sunday service

Pastor spoke at length dissecting the Bible but it seems he was wasting his time. All I was saying in my heart was, "Oga do fast, I am hungry", While he was talking, It was as if my mind was arrested and flashed like corrupted SD card.

I heard Pastor quote Proverb 23:23,"Buy the Truth and never sell it", that moment, I wanted more. The hunger disappeared, my attention refocused and I could feel my heart racing.

Pastor has refused to explain what he meant by that but instead, he said I should go find out and come teach him next Sunday. I was mad and confused. I was like a time bomb that is about to explode.

I couldn't play again, I couldn't eat nor even come out of my room. Everyone is worried about me but no one came to see what was wrong. I stayed in all day think about what Pastor has told me.

In the journey with my thought, a knock at my door made me see reality once more. I could see my Dad walk in. In as much as I am so stubborn, mom never gave up on me like Dad did. I knew so well that anyone who will walk into my room will be Mom but I am surprised to see my Dad.

Dad walked to my bed and sat down, I could hear him mutter something that sounds like "Son, what is the problem?", I am sure that is what he said anyway.

"Why the hell will Daddy care now, he didn't care all along?", After the last time he promised to disown me, I have dreaded him and tried everything to avoid him but now he is in my room pretending to care. "Just walk away", The three words ringing in my ears; for fear of being disowned and creating more confusion, I stayed back.

I could hear myself spilling my curiosity and confusion to my Dad. I hate that I am doing this but couldn't stop. I hate myself for doing it but it is a move in the right direction.

I found my answers. So quick? Why didn't I invite an elder to explain all along? Why was I depending on my wisdom and understanding?

Almost immediately Daddy left my room, I picked up my Bible to visit that particular passage.

Proverb 23:23: Buy the truth and do not sell it; get wisdom, discipline and understanding.

How foolish I was not to have read the complete scriptures, I should have seeked wisdom and understanding.

I understand it all now vividly, at last I could now lecture my Pastor on what I understood by the scripture.

I took my pen and paper to write out the points to deliver to my Pastor.

1. Stand by the truth:

To buy the truth is to stand by the truth. Irrespective of the consequences. For me to stand by the truth, I will be hated and persecuted just like our Lord Jesus Christ and the Apostles. Holding onto truth is golden. It's a principle of justice. Even when all the circumstances says otherwise. They will bribe you, threaten to kill you, attempt on your life and your family. Stand for the just course. So as I child, if I do something wrong and even when I know that mummy or daddy will beat me or it will put me in trouble, I should stand to tell the truth.

2. Discipline:

I need discipline myself not to steal, not to lie, not to gossip, etc. It won't be easy, but with discipline, I can

3. Seek wisdom and understanding:

As a child, I have to know that I don't know it all. There are people who are ahead of me and more knowledgeable than I think I am. So I shouldn't wait for the need to seek wisdom from them.

4. Make research:

After reading the first part of the scripture, I didn't know what to do but going deeper made me realize what I should have done earlier.

Well, thank you for reading this piece of my mind to commiserate the children's day celebration.

This short piece is for you and I. We are someone's children. As we mark this day, may God bless us immensely.

KEEP DOING IT

During my free time yesterday, I decided to skim through social Media. I was so irritated with the headlines until one caught my attention.

I am sure you are already asking how this is your Business. Well, permit to say it is your business.

Okay, here is the news that got my attention.

Nigeria Music Sensation gift young Boy $2561 (#1million)

The Photoshopped image (Davido and Wizkid)

"Wow,This is amazing, I exclaimed.

"Only God knows what this young man would have done to get such parcel from these stingy Nigerian Celebraties", I said to myself not minding who was sitting around me

Then I decided to pay attention to details.

A young boy popularly known by his Instagram name as @CuteAbiola was gifted $2561 (#1million) by US born Nigerian Music Sensation popular known as Davido for photoshopping him and another Music sensation Wizkid into the same pics calling them Greatest Of All Time (GOAT).

This particular picture was first found in an Instagram handle belonging to Nigerian Social Media Influencer, Tunde Ednut before making it's way to Davido's Instagram page.

You may ponder why I am telling you this story or you may wonder why because of common Photoshop, Davido gifted that young boy $2561.

Now, This young man in question, I took my time to go through his Instagram page and was happy to see his work. Not much was there but he is consistent.

The Photoshop people are doing ordinarily,  this young guy is doing it extraordinarily.

The real image

He is so good that he snap off peoples head in pictures, place another head to it and it fit in perfectly.

What is the purpose of this story?

Just keep reading as I want to draw some life scenerios from it.

Very soon, you will say all these motivational speakers but I bet you that this is what you need now.

This is all about drive, purpose and what you should apply in your everyday life if you want to be where you aspire to be.

I encourage us to be:

1. Be consistent with what you are doing. That thing you are doing thinking no one is watching of seeing you, keep doing it. You write and you post but gets no like or comment, don't give up, keep at it.

2. I want us to know that God can position anybody anywhere to help us. That's why you should be consistent? Because you don't know who that destiny helper is that is watching you.

3. Let people be uplifted through you. When you see people doing what is right and struggling to progress, do not discourage but encourage them. Help and support them get to the height they aspire to be.

4. Appreciation goes a long way. Just the same way you appreciate God for the things he is doing in yiur life, God will do more, same way it is in man, when you appreciate people for the little things they are doing, they will do more.

Keep doing that which is right that will boost your progress.

Keep at it and keep doing it. Never be apologetic.

This message is for you and I.

DREAM AND DRIVE

Have you heard the story of ARCHIE WILLIAMS

Incarcerated for 37 years for crime he did not commit.

He was imprisoned for rape and murder.

A man like this who has spent most of his life got freed last year. You may think his life has ended.

According to him, he was imprisoned but his mind was not. He had a dream to sing and while in prison, he was wishing to be at American Got Talent. He wished to grace the stage one day

Archie auditioned for American Got Talent and made it to the main stage.

Now, here are the things you should learn;

1. He was not limited by his age:
You have to know that age is just a number especially in pursuing that dream. Your age should not limit you. Archie should be about 50-60 years now or more . He has almost all his life in prison but he was challenged by his dreams.

2. He held unto his dream:
He never gave up on his dreams. Even while in prison, he believed he will fulfill his purpose and ambitions. According to him, his dream kept him going

3. He perservered in the midst of challenges and obstacles. You and I should not give up on our dreams just because of challenges thrown at us. Our ability to endure and keep hope alive makes us reach that goal and ambitions.

4. He trusted God.
"All things worketh together for good for those who put their trust in God"

Trust God and he will come to our rescue.

This message is for you and I
